  • Over 25 years’ experience in education as a teacher and senior leader in mainstream and special schools and as a Local Authority Adviser
  • Local Authority adviser: supporting and advising primary, secondary and special school senior leadership teams and school staff in all aspects of policy and practice regarding inclusion, pupil behaviour, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) and overcoming pupils’ barriers to learning
  • Head of an Education Partnership, working strategically to provide a range of additional intervention and support services for the ten partnership schools and the families and communities they served
  • Extensive experience as trainer, mentor and assessor of trainee teachers on school-based initial teacher training programmes and as a trainer supporting adoptive and foster parents
  • Qualified restorative practices facilitator; solution-focused teacher coach; Massage in Schools Programme trainer; infant massage instructor
  • Independent freelance consultant working with schools and professionals from other agencies to support troubled and troubling children and their families
  • Extensive experience in training, coaching, mentoring and supervision

Chris is passionately committed to supporting colleagues and families to improve the life chances of troubled and troubling children and young people. She is fascinated and inspired by the ever-deepening knowledge and understanding of the brain and body that neuroscience gives us and how that is now being woven into the understanding and practice of clinicians. She is enormously excited by the potential impact of this research on school culture and on improved outcomes for children, young people and for families.
