SENIOR TRAINER

Emily has extensive experience supporting young people, families, and professionals.

Her work in this space originally started in private practice supporting individuals, following an MA in Dramatherapy. Her work evolved to focus on families and couples following further training specialising in these areas.

Emily has worked in educational settings for over 15 years as a teaching assistant, a therapist, and a senior leader. She had the opportunity to join Octavia House Schools, an independent group of sector-leading therapeutic schools, when it opened in 2013 and she remains on the board of Governors today.

Throughout the 10 years at Octavia House Schools, starting as therapist and evolving to Executive Head, Emily was responsible for establishing practical models and structures to support staff, alongside creating a culture that is always therapeutic and trauma responsive, ensuring that it is an environment where all children can thrive when this was not possible in mainstream or other alternative educational settings. Octavia House Schools has maintained an Ofsted rating of outstanding since 2013.

After becoming a mum of two, Emily continues her work in trauma informed education and is now a freelance consultant and trainer, delivering training and supervision for Trauma Informed Schools UK and Warren Larkin Associates. Emily is pro-parent and passionate about equipping parents and staff with evidence, tools, and resources to empower them to provide meaningful interventions that best support young people and their families.
