OVERVIEW

 This training comprises a wealth of age-appropriate therapeutic interventions, tools and techniques with fascinating theoretical underpinnings from the latest research in child and adolescent psychology, psychoanalysis and neuroscience. It aims to support the practitioner to enable vulnerable children/young people to move from mental health problems, troubled relationships and mind in torment, to mind in peace. In this endeavour, delegates will gain key therapeutic skills from Emotion Focused Counselling and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.

• How to work effectively through all stages of trauma recovery.
• How to connect with highly defended children/young people.
• How to establish an effective working alliance with parents.
• How to develop a meaningful dialogue with children/young people so they are able to address core pain and change emotion with emotion
• How, when, where to refer on.

• 6 training days

Please note: the training can be attended without assessment and the award.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

The training is open to practitioners who have received the TISUK Diploma qualification (not just attendance).  Please read our duty of care to delegates.

On successful completion of the assessment delegates will receive an Advanced Certificate in Therapeutic Skills for Trauma Recovery.
